Hozier Covers “Problem” at BBC’s Live Lounge

Written by on February 2, 2015

Hozier has received plenty of international recognition after the release of his single “Take Me to Church.” He has since made many televised appearances such as David Letterman, Saturday Night Live, Ellen, and even the Victoria Secret fashion show.

Very recently the Irish singer stopped at the BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge to perform an acoustic version of his very successful single “Take Me to Church” and a cover of Ariana Grande’s “Problem.” Hozier’s cover is the gem of his Live Lounge performance. The “Take Me to Church” singer turned Ariana’s pop driven single into a soulful, rock rendition that is guaranteed to amaze you. The cover is very guitar heavy and includes gospel like harmonies. Sadly Hozier did not attempt to rap, but he did omit Iggy Azalea’s rap verse and replaced it with a few lines from Warren G’s “Regulate.” All in all, Hozier’s cover completely outdid the original with his very own musical stylings. I can only speak for myself when I say that I will most likely have this on repeat for the next few days, possibly weeks.

What do you think of Hozier’s rendition of “Problem?”
