Valentine’s Day Survival Playlist: It’s Complicated

Written by on February 11, 2015

If you’re considering changing your Facebook relationship to: It’s Complicated…you’ve come to the right place. It can’t always be sunshine and rainbows, unfortunately. It’s not unusual for things to go awry in a relationship days before the holiday of love. Crying into a bowl of ice cream and belting at the top of your lungs to a few heartbreak songs could just be what you need!

Tori Kelly “All In My Head”

If you’re in one of those situations where someone is just not in it any more (aka “when bae’s gone astray”). This goes out to you. (I had to hit you with the acoustic version to give you more feels)

Jessie Ware “Say You Love Me”

Sigh. Because everyone wants to hear those three words.

Travis Garland “Other People”

Ugh. Sometimes you have to watch the person you love…love somebody else.  My favorite boy Travis Garland feels the same way and he’s going to sing us through it.

“In Real Life” Demi Lovato

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having expectations. You deserve the best! If your significant other is not living up to that….Demi has something for you to hear.

Daniel Bedingfield “Without The Girl”

That friend zone, though. The timing can be so off and conflicting when you want to be with someone else. Life gets in the way. PEOPLE get in the way. Waiting to take that chance can seem like the hardest thing to wait for! Some people…the right people…are worth it in the end!

Cody Simpson “Sinkin’ In”

We can’t always be perfect. Let’s say that after you’ve broken up with someone, you see them with someone else. Not only did you ruin your chance, but now you’re bitter and full of regret. Here’s to you wanted a second chance at love.

Gavin DeGraw “Not Over You”

I know there’s a few of you who have played up your Facebook statuses or Instagram posts to make it seem like you are having the time of your life without that one person. Sorry, but Gavin DeGraw completely ratted you out.

I know I’m barely scratching the surface, so let us know in the comments what is the perfect “breakup” song or the most appropriate song for going through the complications of a relationship! Here are some others that crossed my mind:

  • The New Kids On The Block “2 In The Morning” (obsessed with this one)
  • Jesse McCartney “Leavin”
  • Demi Lovato “Fix A Heart”
  • Cassie Steele “Try Baby”
  • The Tony Rich Project “Nobody Knows”
  • David Archuleta “A Little Too Not Over You”
  • Gotye ft. Kimbra “Somebody That I Used To Know”
  • Mariah Carey “Shake It Off”
  • Justin Timberlake “What Goes Around…”

Thanks for reading! I hope you all had a wonderful day and be sure to stay tuned for more tunes soon!
