Just when you thought the Houston weather was getting a little too gloomy, R&B/pop sensation Chris Brown and rapper Tyga brought our spirits up with their amazing performance at Toyota Center Monday night. Eager fans anxiously awaited the performers to take the stage once a 10-minute countdown appeared on the stage’s backdrop. As the countdown reached the last few seconds, deafening screams took over the stadium and Tyga appeared from the backdrop. Starting off his set with a few early hits such as ‘Faded’ and ‘Dope’, the rapper performed with high energy and hard-hitting bass. Fans across the stadium knew every word of Tyga’s songs, which brought a huge smile to his face as he killed it on stage.

After a 20-minute set, Tyga leaves the stage and Chris Brown pops up with his hit song ‘X’ from his latest album with the same name. If you thought fans were loud during Tyga’s opening set, you were wrong. Chris Brown paused his set to see how the Houston audience was holding up with his performance: “H-TOWN! Let me hear all the sexy ladies out there!” Breezy literally breezed through all of his classic hits from ‘Run It’ to ‘Poppin’ and slowed it down with his sexually explicit songs ‘Wet the Bed’ and ‘No BS’. When Brown had completed his set, Tyga appeared on stage to perform some songs off the duo’s newest collaboration album titled “Fan of a Fan: The Album.” If the concert wasn’t enough for fans to go crazy over, Houston native duo Sauce Twinz made a surprise appearance onstage with their performance of ‘2 Legited 2 Quited.’ Every audience member yelled the lyrics to the song and showed the twins major love.

Even though the venue was only 80% full, every audience member was on their feet and made it feel like a sold out show. Many fans were distraught when they found out Trey Songz would not be performing in Houston after a rescheduling mishap. However, Chris Brown and Tyga definitely compensated for the R&B star’s absence with their amazing chemistry and stage presence. Monday night at Toyota Center was too hot to handle with these two stars lighting up the stage and showing fans one hell of a night.
