Florida Georgia Line was on the edge of glory before they took a leap of faith last Wednesday, at NRG Stadium, during their full-house Houston Rodeo performance. That was when the courageous duo decided to be brave and defy adversity by jumping off the rotating center stage onto the dirt field for a closer look […]

I was relieved when I saw there was not the line I had expected for Brooklyn rockers TV on the Radio. I was thrilled that I was able to sneak next to the side rails and get very close to the stage. I was beyond ecstatic when I saw that Stubb’s was still serving delicious […]

I met with the four man indie-pop band from California yesterday in an alley behind Buffalo Billiards off 6th and Brazos. We escaped to the alley since inside 101.5, Austin’s indie and alternative station, had artists in and out for live interviews. Needless to say, the place was packed and very loud. We were not […]

The rumors of free drinks and food are true and alive at SXSW. Copyright Alliance hosted a charity event last night at El Sol Y La Luna called Keep America Creative. All you had to do was RSVP, which I did at the door, and I was in for a free show, unlimited beer and margaritas.

International superstar, Ariana Grande, rocked the Houston Rodeo with an electric performance that left over seventy-five thousand screaming fans speechless. Grande, which is also Spanish for ‘big,’ performed to a full house that helped her make Rodeo history.

Wednesday night for SXSW had much more going on than the previous night, and the crowds were forming early at almost every door.  The Roosevelt Room, which is on the smaller scale for venue size, was no exception. The show was started off by Kydd Jones who immediately got the crowd going with dope lyrics […]

With the recent release of Drake’s “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late”, NWTS might be the furthest thing from our mind’s right now. But that album had plenty of gems so I’d like to throw it back this Friday and share this NWTS cover.

As SXSW music week continues along, bigger and bigger names are popping up around town. While most of the official showcases do not start until around 8:00 pm, many of the bars and shops around town are throwing their own events to keep everyone entertained. Waterloo Records, located on North Lamar, has day parties Wednesday […]

Uncle Lucius took full advantage of the packed house at Parish on 6th St. on the first night of the music portion of South By Southwest. This dimly lit venue turned into quite the party when Uncle Lucius took the stage as they had the crowd singing along with every word.

It is said that one of the most exclusive shows at SXSW is Fader Fort. The 4-day music line up consists of artists such as Migos, Bleachers, Ghostface Killah, Chance The Rapper and many more. Fader Fort was serious when they said their lineup was going to be dope.

I finally made it to Austin late last night and headed over to Cheer Up Charlies, a great venue that had two stages set up and the added perk of two food trucks on site. Unfortunately, I entered as The Sour Notes were ending their set, but I plan to catch them Thursday during a […]

Surprise, surprise! One week before official release, March 23, the cloak has been peeled off to show Kendrick Lamar’s new album “To Pimp a Butterfly” — the cover had been shown as solid black for weeks on iTunes with an untitled track list, which only added to the anticipation. The album cover deemed a black and […]

It didn’t take long for Dierks Bentley to hit full-throttle on Monday night at Rodeo Houston, with this being his 6th time performing he’s no stranger to the rotating stage, and according to Bentley, seven is his favorite number so he’s hoping for a 7th Rodeo appearance in the future.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo reached an all-time new record when they welcomed 75,357 attendees to its annual Go Tejano Day at NRG Stadium. Founded in 1931, Rodeo Houston has evolved for the better, and nearly eighty-four years later, the Rodeo has much to celebrate. Fans stood up and clapped as the commentator announced […]

Just when you thought the Houston weather was getting a little too gloomy, R&B/pop sensation Chris Brown and rapper Tyga brought our spirits up with their amazing performance at Toyota Center Monday night. Eager fans anxiously awaited the performers to take the stage once a 10-minute countdown appeared on the stage’s backdrop. As the countdown […]

After months of speculation and random leaks, record label Soulection dropped the highly anticipated collaborative project from SPZRKT and Sango. “Hours Spent Loving You” was released last Monday night via the Soulection soundcloud page, completely out of the blue.

With a beer in one hand and a turkey leg in the other, Cowboys and Cowgirls welcomed Billy Currington to Houston’s Livestock Show and Rodeo. Last Saturday at the NRG Stadium, the country superstar performed his hit songs “People Are Crazy,” “Must be Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” and more. Houstonians celebrated Currington with a pleasant reception […]

When it comes to South By Southwest, there is nothing short of amazing. The week long music frenzy is just getting started. Along the high baller music showcases, there is this one event that is a must when you attend SXSW. The mtvU Woodies is an amazing awards show highlighting the year’s top artists and spotlighting the newest […]

South By Southwest is almost here and with it comes the 2015 Fader Fort. This year the Fader Fort will be presented by Converse just as in years past and will run from March 18th-21st. Past musical acts like Black Hippy, Santigold and Trinidad Jame$ have torn up the stage and this years lineup is sure […]

The Houston Rodeo welcomed Pitbull to the NRG Stadium where he performed to a sold-out crowd. It’s been a long journey for Pitbull, many say he’s come a very long way, and if the story of how he made it, or the struggles his family went through prior to his success, were not clear to […]
