SXSW Official Showcase: Hiatus Kaiyote

Written by on March 23, 2015

Aside from the big artists at SXSW, the festival was primarily created to support the local musicians as well as the up and coming artists. Hiatus Kaiyote  is a neo-soul group from Melbourne, Australia who made their first debut at SXSW. The group performed at Parish Hall venue on 6th street, an intimate setting at the end of the night and a sold out show.

Performed their grammy nominated song “Nakamarra” and their popular song “Molasses” among others. The soul and passion behind their music and lyrics set the bar high for other R&B artists that are just getting some recognition. A highly recommended performance to watch, the band will play Austin once more in late May so do not miss out.
