Austin Psych Fest Artist Spotlight: Fuzz

Written by on April 6, 2015

Austin Psych Fest is coming up and there are so many bands playing. As we try to fill you in on what you might get to see, keep in mind that we are giving away tickets, so be on the look out!

Another addition to the music explosion that is Austin, Texas, will be Fuzz! This garage punk band is going to play Austin Psych Fest, along with the likes of The Flaming Lips and Tame Impala. The band has one LP, self-titled, that was released in 2013. The group is based in San Francisco, where a lot of great music is centered. Though they are self-labeled “garage punk,” their sound has been greatly influenced by the San Francisco indie scene.

Ty Segall started Fuzz as a side project and took it from there. The group has sounds that are sleepy and kind of jolting at the same time. Similar to Goat and Thee Oh Sees (who will also be gracing the stage), the group found its spot in a welcoming genre of music lovers. They have been playing shows for a few years now and festivals like Levitation Fest.

So if any of that sounded good to you, you can check Fuzz out on Facebook or listen to their album on Spotify. The tickets for Levitation/Austin Psych Festival are on sale now! It’s from May 8-10, so don’t miss out!
