  1. I am ‘Movin’ on Up’ to see Primal Scream.
The groove, the dance, the jam, they weave is agleam.
Would be one hell of a concert,
Frying hard out in the desert,
Getting ‘Higher Than the Sun’ would be a dream…

    and for good measure,

Austin Psych Fest, what a joy it would be!
If I could go, I would be so happy!
    However, I am too poor,
And thus my life is a bore,
But if this rhyme wins, my pants I would pee!

Because my favorite band is Thee Oh Sees
And Wayne Coyne is my favorite sleaze.

To Austin, i can’t wait to flock.

  3. there now lives a boy in north houston
who is poor and tickets, could use them
    his favorite band is diiv
he needs to see them live
he loves festivals, and hates losin’

  4. I totally mixed up my lines in my post a few min ago, don’t disqualify me! Here’s the corrected : p

Swirling riffs resonate in the mischief of my mind,
The ancient cosmic fires burn as our hearts become aligned,
Floating up to the sky towards salvation,
As we defying gravity with levitation,
Dancing and dreaming of lucid prophecies before the apocalypse of mankind.

Inspired my Tame Impala’s album Lonerism. : )

  6. Every single part of me says, “please, just go ahead”.
You find it a bit startling, your face turns a pale red.
so silly when you call out my name,
taming an impala is no simple game.
a disheartening feeling to move backwards in your head.

  7. Every single part of me says, “please, just go ahead”.
You find it a bit startling, your face turns a pale red.
I find it quite silly whenever you call out my name,
You see, taming an impala is no simple game.
So this is it darling, I’m moving backwards in your head.

  8. This is my first limerick…

inspired by everyones favorite ogre… Shrek
heres a quote from the bio-film Shrek (2001)

00:34:56 You could recite an epic poem for me.
    00:34:58 A ballad? A sonnet!
    00:35:01 – A limerick? Or something! – I don’t think so.
00:35:04 Can I at least know the name of my champion?
    00:35:08 Um, Shrek.

There once was an ogre named Shrek.
He was tall and had little to no neck.
His best friend was a donkey,
His swamp had a swamp tree,
So I suggest you head for the decks.

I guess my house is Panda Express
At Night my bed looks like a mess
But yet I feel like eating mice

I wish I could do something for Flaming Lips, Spiritualized, Primal Scream, Jesus Mary Chain, Mac DeMarco, METZ, TWDY, and Sungod. Unfortunately, I, being Irish/Indian, am not as good as my forefathers.

In the year of 1996, my dad saw Jesus and Mary Chain,
Known for lively shows, it must have been an attack on the brain,
Now, they and many other bands are gonna play at Austin Psych Fest
Though, low-key, Flaming Lips is definitely the best,
I love them all, since fun is the only thing to gain.

Sometimes I feel like there is no pain
    Just hanging inside my brain
    In between shadow and light
Splitting me from left to right
I realize I am not death I feel the rain

  15. There once was a band they called Tame
Who headlined with lips made of flame.
    Coog Radio had passes.
    To see them en masses.
If we play this lyrical game.

  16. Psych music exists
    To cause mental mischief
And though I can’t afford top dolla’
And give what I have to see Tame Impala
So that I can continue this mischievous sickness

  17. I rented out the place where I live
Donated all the blood I could give
    Made me a dolla
    To see Tame Impala
    And a band I think’s pronounced DIIV

  18. “There once was a man depressed by the life he was leading.
He worked hard to spend his money on things he was needing.
Coog Radio gave him a chance to have fun seeing Tame Impala
But try as he might despite all the neurons firing in his amygdala
He’s just no good at poetry and this is his limerick you’re reading. ”

  20. Down in Austin will be the Night Beats

Most enjoyed with cold beer in the heat

    And maybe some more

    If you’re lucky to score

Some mushrooms and acid to eat

Say something
