10 Must-See Bands on Vans Warped Tour 2015

Written by on June 3, 2015

Summer is approaching and with it comes vacations, beaches, parties and just getting to sleep in all day if you want. Summer also means it’s time for the largest traveling tour to come around: the Vans Warped Tour! VWT_protix I went to my first Warped Tour back in 2009 as a sixteen year old eager to see all of her favorite bands performing throughout the day and dreaded the thought of any of those bands overlapping set times. Since then I’ve been going every year (with the exception of 2010), and as summer approaches I start preparing for the day I get to experience the tour once again. Every year, there are as many as 100 bands featured on the tour which can be quite overwhelming for anyone who hasn’t been before and even for those who have (two of my top favorite bands played 5 minutes apart last year on stages completely opposite of each other, can you say STRESSED?). So with that in mind I decided to whip up a 10 must see bands at this years Warped Tour.

We Came As Romans

I first listened to We Came As Romans live, at the Vans Warped Tour in 2013, I had heard so many good things about their newest album at the time (Tracing Back Roots) so I decided to check out their set and I was instantly in love.

Candy Hearts

Candy Hearts has made a big impact since their appearance at SXSW two years ago and after their short three day run on Warped last year, the band is back this and will be playing all summer long!

Beartooth

I accidentally stumbled upon this band at Warped tour last year, while walking around and they instantly caught my attention. Fronted by ex-Attack! Attack! member, Caleb Shomo, Beartooth brought in a good crowd that spent the entire time off their feet and in mosh pit heaven.

Memphis May Fire

I got to check out Memphis May Fire a couple of years ago when they toured with Sleeping With Sirens, and they have a huge, loyal fan base that goes insane when this band hits the stage.

BlessTheFall

BlessTheFall are Warped tour veterans; they have been on the tour on-and-off since 2007 so there should be no doubt that these guys put on an incredible show. The last time I saw them, they were playing the Monster Energy stage and the crowd was spilling out in all directions and the crowd-surfers never stopped.

Hands Like Houses

This Australian band is no stranger to the tour and they are back this year. Hands Like Houses is a must-see this summer! For fans of the UK rockers, You Me At Six.

Set It Off

If you came to see a show, this band will give it to you. Over the years, I’ve watched this band experiment and develop their sound. Well, now they’ve got it and they know exactly what to do with it. Set It Off are known for incorporating skits into their performances that relate to each song in the set. They dress up, act out, and undoubtedly give each performance everything they’ve got. Beyond that, the guys are genuine and truly take the time to connect with their fans. When they performed on Warped in 2013, lead singer Cody Carson led the crowd from the stage to their merchandise tent where the band met every single fan that followed them.

Pierce The Veil

If you’re familiar with the Warped Tour scene and haven’t heard of this band yet– what rock are you living under? The San Diego natives have been on the tour four times since 2008 and have toured with other Warped favorites such as All Time Low, Sleeping With Sirens, A Day To Remember, and even The Wonder Years. This band truly sounds like no other, so whether you’re into post-hardcore (“mexi-core” as they call it) music, or not, Pierce The Veil is definitely a band worth your time.

PVRIS

We’ve talked about this band a little bit over here at Coog Radio because they’re definitely an “up and comer” you should be keeping an eye on. The female-fronted rock group released their first full-length album, White Noise, this year and have been touring almost non-stop since then. Definitely expect a solid performance from them.

Our Last Night

These guys have just about taken over Youtube with their unique alternative covers of popular pop songs. Vocalists and brothers Trent and Matt Wentworth will serenade you with their smooth vocals, but they also know how to get the crowd headbanging along with their harder songs.
