Artist Spotlight: Born Cages

borncages-nicolemago-4Whatever gift giving holiday (no pun intended) you celebrate came early this year! The lovely people of Born Cages just released their debut full length masterpiece I’m Glad I’m Not Me. The New York natives have been preforming together since 2011 under the original name “Electric Sun.” The group is composed of lead singer Vlad Holiday, bassist and keyboardist Matt Maroulakos, and guitarist David Tantao.

These guys have performed on the same stages as Magic Man and X Ambassadors, which is not at all surprising if you have ever listened to them. Their single “Rolling Down the Hill” was widely accepted by the indie music scene and the music video even won an award from MTV.  They also are similar to The Colourist and Bad Suns, if you like either of those bands.

Long story short, you should check out “I’m Glad I’m Not Me” at your earliest convenience. There will be at least one song you enjoy, guaranteed. Listen on Spotify, buy it on iTunes afterwards, tweet them about how great it was, and then share it on Facebook. Let us know in the comments what other bands you want us to talk about!
