This week’s raves are all about how Tori Kelly makes awful songs, Nico & Vinz went broke and A Great Big World enjoys holding each other. Don’t believe me? Well, let me explain.
Tori Kelly Makes Awful Songs Sound Beautiful
OK. Matt Edmondson from BBC Radio 1 thought that Tori Kelly could make awful songs sound beautiful earlier last week…and he was absolutely correct. Let’s face it, she could sing her grocery list and I would still buy it on iTunes. Although opinions on what songs were classified as awful will vary, it’s safe to say that she can bring justice to any song.
“Roses” by The Chainsmokers ft. Rozes
This song has been stuck in my head for days and I finally got around to watching the video. Why did it have to be so precious? That beat drop was the best thing and I love the incorporation of the ballet dancing. I felt that it was simple, sweet and fitting to the song.
“Hold Each Other” by A Great Big World
My favorite thing about A Great Big World is that they use their music to encourage and inspire others with lyrics that really resonate with you. Something as simple as switching the pronouns in one verse has had such an impact on the lives of others. This duo deserves all the awards.
“We Won’t” by Jaymes Young & Phoebe Ryan
Jaymes Young and Phoebe Ryan were created for many different reasons…this duet being one of them. Their voices blend INCREDIBLY well together for this collaboration and I can’t get enough of it.
That’s How You Know feat. Kid Ink & Bebe Rexha
Last but not least, after radio killed “Am I Wrong?” I had to see what else Nico & Vinz could offer. That was when I stumbled upon this hilarious track. So much was going on in this video. Why was Kid Ink a bobble head? Where was Bruno Mars because his vibes were written all over it? Was that Bebe Rexha or Lorde? Did everyone forget the words towards the end? I have so many questions but the video was entertaining nonetheless.
Also, down below you can find one of my Spotify playlists that I constantly update so be sure to check that out! I’ve had “On My Mind” by Ellie Goulding on repeat this week! Let me know in the comments the songs you’ve been jamming to recently!
