Half Ethiopian and half british, Izzy Bizu is a 20-year-old teen with a voice that reminds you of old jazz records and legends such as Amy Winehouse and even Ella Fitzgerald. With all the digital pop and electro music that’s become popular nowadays, Izzy is like a breath of fresh air that brings simplicity and soul back into the music world.

Growing up in South West London, Izzy made her first appearance at the ILUVLIVE open mic night, winning over the crowd which included Emelie Sandé and Naughty Boy. From there on, she’s been on a roll and has opened up for Sam Smith and Jamie Cullum and even performed at Glastonbury twice now. Her music is amazing and the lyrics story-like.

A mix of jazz fusion and upbeat funk and pop, Izzy’s music is great for mid-day drives with friends with the windows rolled down or for casual house parties with friends. You can pre-order her upcoming album A Moment of Madness coming out April 26 on iTunes and listen to her on soundcloud. Follow her on Twitter and Instagram for more.
