Artist Spotlight: Cage The Elephant

Written by on January 11, 2016

ok2016 is here and it’s time to get into some new music. If you like Arctic Monkeys or The Kooks, Cage The Elephant might be for you. Rock music from Kentucky? I’m not kidding. These guys have been producing indie rock for the past decade. They made a name for themselves in England, with their American success following soon after.

The group has been releasing a new album every two years since 2009, so there’s never been a long hiatus to sit through. Most recently, Tell Me I’m Pretty was released late December 2015. The band is touring early this year in Europe to promote their new music, hopefully with a US tour to follow. Each of their albums has had a similar enough sound to be the same band but different enough to clearly belong to a different era of their lives.

One song that has notably gained traction is called “Come A Little Closer,” which charted number 1 on several US Alternative charts upon its release. (Careful, it’s very contagious and positively excellent.)

Don’t let me speak for Cage The Elephant, check them out for yourself. You can listen to their entire discography on Spotify today, then grab it on iTunes. Be on the look out on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for tour dates in Houston soon.
