If you don’t know Modest Mouse, then you don’t know alternative rock.

Modest Mouse has been recording music since the early ’90s. Lead vocalist and guitarist Isaac Brock met drummer Jeremiah Green and guitarist Eric Judy in their hometown of Issaquah, Washington. The trio decided to make music together and the rest is history.

Over the years, Modest Mouse has added a slew of other musicians to their roster—including bassist Tom Peloso, guitarists Jim Fairchild and Russell Higbee, vocalist Lisa Molinaro, and percussionists Davey Brozowski and Ben Massarella.

In their early days, Modest Mouse released 8 EPs and cassettes, as well as two studio albums, with independent labels, K Records and Up Records. The band’s major label debut, The Moon & Antarctica, garnered critical acclaim and was certified gold. Modest Mouse found mainstream success—and a platinum record—in 2004 with the release of their fourth studio album, Good News for People Who Love Bad News.

The Free Press Summer Fest will run June 4 and 5 in Eleanor Tinsley Park. Purchase passes here.
