A Cry baby with a big heart, Melanie Martinez is coming to Texas once again to perform the pity party of our dreams at this years ACL

Known for her obscure and slightly creepy music, the 21-year-old got her start when she auditioned for season 3 of The Voice with an amazing cover of Britney Spear’s “Toxic.” Her play on childlike and innocent themes with a dark twist caught people’s attention when her song “Carousel” got picked up for American Horror Story just in time for the Circus themed season. Melanie’s career took off shortly after as she released her debut album Cry Baby which follows the story of her alter-ego whose life she talks about with cute, light musical instruments but creepy disturbing lyrics.

Follow Melanie Martinez on Twitter and Instagram for updates and make sure to catch her at ACL both weekends on Saturday, October 1st and October 8th. You can purchase tickets here.

Bethel is a senior at the University of Houston studying Journalism and International studies. You can find her fighting for her life at a concert or obsessing over music at some coffee shop. Follow @bloobart for weird tweets
