Yukimi Nagano, Erik Bodin, Fred Wallin and Håkan Wirenstrand make up Little Dragon, a Swedish based band from Gothenburg that blends R&B, electronic and indie tunes into wonderful and slightly strange songs.

Formed in 1996 during their high school years, at the time freshman Yukimi would meet up with seniors Fredrick Wallin and Erik Bodin after school to play De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest and Alice Coltrane records. Since then, Little Dragon has caught attention from a wide range of listeners from Pharrell to Future and much more. Their previous album Nabuma Rubberband was different from their other albums, carrying more Janet Jackson inspired slow jams rather than upbeat songs but still carrying that strange jazzy dance vibe that they’re known for. With a four successful albums and international acclaim, Little Dragon is working on a fifth album which is believed to be coming out next year in 2017. Ranging from dance to slow, the Swedish-Japanese lead singer Yukimi’s voice puts you at ease, her slightly raspy voice giving the band’s dreamy sound a bit more soul.

Make sure to check them out during Day for Night on Sunday, December 18. You can get your tickets here.
