BUKU Artist Spotlight: Alison Wonderland

Written by on February 1, 2018

Alison Wonderland, an Australian DJ and producer, has been taking the world by storm this year. From humble beginnings, this badass and talented young woman has landed herself a spot on Coachella’s 2018 lineup, the cover of many popular DJ magazines, and even created her own music festival in Australia called Wonderland Scarehouse. Her love for music began when she learned to play the cello and bass as a kid, and then fell in love with electronic music. She began getting involved with local artists and playing shows and festivals in Sydney, and soon her talent was recognized and she began putting out her own singles. Her debut album, Run, released in 2015 soon made moves up the charts. Produced with fellow Australian artists Slumberjack and Lido, the album immediately gained recognition for its unique blend of dance and trap-sound and began climbing charts and winning nominations.

Spending the past few years touring the world and working with many well-established artists, there’s no doubt Alison Wonderland has made a name for herself. Last September, she was named New Artist of the Year at the Electronic Music awards, and is set to release her new album Awake sometime this year. Wonderland has produced a close following of young electronic music fans, as many of her lyrics deal with overcoming mental illness and being a woman in the male-dominated music industry.

Alison Wonderland will be joining a packed lineup at BUKU Music & Arts festival this spring break in New Orleans, along other headliners including Bassnectar, Migos, SZA, Rezz, and more! You won’t want to miss this unique and vibrant festival with one of the most diverse lineups we’ve ever seen. Click here to buy tickets to BUKU and check out Alison Wonderland’s Soundcloud below.
