Larry LaLonde, Les Claypool and Tim Alexander

Based out of Sacramento, California, Primus is a rock band fronted by vocalist/bassist, Les Claypool. Originally consisting of Claypool, guitarist Todd Huth and a drum machine, the band now consists of their most popular lineup of Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde and drummer Tim Alexander. One of the more unique bands of their generation, Primus’ sound has been described as experimental, encompassing elements of progressive rock, funk and everything in between.

Best known for their albums Frizzle Fry and Sailing the Seas of Cheese, the band has been a prominent force in the Alternative community, with standout songs like “Jerry Was a Racecar Driver,” “Tommy the Cat,” and “My Name is Mud.”

The band has most recently gone on tours in promotion of their latest albums Primus and the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble and The Devestating Seven, the former being Primus’ unique twist on the iconic film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Primus will be headlining River City Rockfest in San Antonio, Texas this year on September 22. Check them out alongside other acts such as Nine Inch Nails and Stone Temple Pilots here. It’s sure to be an experience that can only be delivered with Primus’ own one-of-a-kind sound.
