Mala Luna Spotlight: Dillon Francis

Written by on October 23, 2018

Dillon Francis has been DJing since the Myspace era. His take on 90’s hip-hop has been his inception to the music world. Quickly gaining attention from EDM legend Diplo, together they released the track “Que Que”, which embraced the 110 bpm Moombahton subgenre – an EDM spin on Reggaetón. He received positive acclaim for other tracks like “I.D.G.A.F.O.S”, and “Get Low” ft. DJ SNAKE.

Earlier this year, he released a single off of his album, VEN, displaying the sound that originally caught the attention of others when he first started off. This past September he dropped his first Latin album, WutWut, which nostalgically showcases the Moombahton style. “Que Que” was the track that brought him into the spotlight, so it only seemed fair to pay homage to his roots. The album is a unique fusion of the Spanish and English languages, and it features artists like Archangel, Fuego, and Ximena Sarinana.

He is a jokester at heart and infamous for his wild pranks on DJ Snake and Martin Garrix. This year Dillon Francis is headlining at Mala Luna, and it’s a must-see show. He will perform his alluring music and catch everyone’s vibe. His stage performance is just the right amount of energy to get the festival pumping this weekend at Nelson Wolff Stadium on October 27th & 28th. Francis specifically will take the stage Sunday, Oct. 28th.
