Freaky Deaky Artist Spotlight: Martin Garrix

Written by on August 23, 2019

Freaky Deaky, the festival formerly known as Something Wicked, is throwing another Halloween rave party this fall in Houston. With a brand new bigger venue, a new fourth stage, and a stacked lineup of artists across electronic music, the hype is real for this year’s festival being better than ever before. Freaky Deaky is around the corner and Coog Radio is giving you the scoop on some sets you won’t want to miss this year. The biggest Halloween bash in the city thrown by Disco Donnie Presents — you won’t want to be anywhere else on Halloween weekend.

One of the youngest DJs to hit success and play around the world as he has — Martin Garrix is among one of the most loved electronic producers/DJs in the world. The Dutch artist has even ranked number one on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list for three consecutive years at the age of 23. With many impressive classics like “Animals” and “In The Name of Love” under his belt, Garrix is on the must-see list for nearly all electronic music fans at any festival. Recently collaborating with artists like Khalid and Dua Lipa, Garrix appeals to audiences from young to old.

Despite an injury where he hurt his ankle this May at a show in Las Vegas shortly after EDC, Garrix has been recovering and back on stage for some late summer shows and a few shows this fall lined up. Having played at the biggest festivals across the world, Garrix has the experience and excellence that make his sets take the audience through a roller coaster of sound. Coachella, Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and Electric Daisy Carnival are among the list of festivals Garrix has headlined in recent years. He even played the closing ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. An incredibly versatile and talented producer, you won’t want to miss a chance to see Martin Garrix live this October in Houston.

Playing alongside other electronic music icons, such as Fisher (playing a 2-hour sunset set), Armin Van Buren, and Steve Aoki, you won’t want to miss this newly expanded festival and specially curated lineup. You can check out the Freaky Deaky website to view the full lineup and grab your tickets for this other-worldly music experience while you can!
