Softest Hard at Lights All Night 2019

Written by on December 5, 2019

Lights All Night, Texas’ longest-running EDM festival, is back with an insane lineup for their 10th anniversary! With headliners like Bassnectar, Skrillex, Virtual Self, and Louis the Child, there’s something for everyone in the rave scene at this diverse festival. Coog Radio is here to highlight some of the artists you won’t want to miss out on this year.

Softest Hard is DJ from Los Angeles, best known for her songs “This High” and “Rock Your Body.” Her smoky sound and style hits just right, the perfect music to chill out and vibe to. Her music perfectly captures her mysterious persona, never making her real name publicly known. In an interview with The Hundreds, she talks about how she came up with her name.

“Softest Hard, an oxymoron, the two perfect words that describe me yet go against each other. To delineate the name it’s simply because I have two sides, I have a very strong, granite-like shell around me and can be mean and aggressive if I wanted to or if needed to, yet I am a kind, polite and delicate girl at the same time.”

“Listen Style” and “Wheel Up Signal,” her latest two singles show an impressive shift in her production skills as she blends in more techno/house elements. Playing shows and festivals across the country over the past year, including at Hard Summer and EDC Mexico, she has also been gaining experience in her live sets. Being a Vietnamese-American woman in a male-dominated industry, Softest Hard has a unique identity that’s refreshing to see represented on big festival lineups.

Heading to Lights All Night festival in Dallas this New Year’s weekend? Softest Hard may just be the unexpected set that ends up being your favorite of the whole day!
