It’s not every day that you hear of new music coming from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but that’s happening today! Vinyl Theatre, the electronic indie band who has been touring with Smallpools, Grizfolk, and Against The Current, is coming back to Houston.

I know what you’re all thinking. Kanye West collaborated with another artist who’s not himself!?

Another band to get stuck in your head, coming up! This week: Gemini Club. This four piece from Chicago might be a little different from what you’re used to as their electronic rock style is hard to duplicate and therefore pretty contagious.

Interview by: Trent Lira We had the chance to chat with Michael Razo and Adam Castaneda, two of the 10 members of the reggae-ska group The Suffers at Free Press Summer Fest this month. Check out the interview below.

This fave cover friday will be a little different than usual. I typically write about rap or r&b, so I’m hooking y’all up with something a bit different. This FCF is a cover of the song “Fallingforyou” by The 1975, performed by Jae Stephens.

Sometimes the best music is that made from the combination of different musical backgrounds, and Picture Atlantic can definitely say they have that. The three-piece from northern California has been performing together for almost ten years. The group, who first came together in a garage in Santa Clara, has released two full length albums and is […]

Those bands that you see the name of and think, nah, I probably wouldn’t like them. That’s how many may treat Manchester Orchestra, but don’t do yourself the same injustice. This group from the Deep South, Atlanta, are a hit in the indie and alternative rock scenes. They’ve been around for over ten years and […]

To say that Bryan Adams transported his admirers to a magical place filled with unconditional love and passion would be a tremendous understatement. Even larger one would be that Bryan Adams is a living-legend. The music icon celebrated the 30th anniversary of his classic album, ‘Reckless,’ the best way a rock star knows how: a […]

Primal Scream harks back to a more innocent era when rock stars had long, shaggy hair, organs were cool and tambourines were a staple of any respectable rock band. A psychedelic rock band that’s toyed with genres as diverse as trip hop and industrial rock, Primal Scream’s sound can best be described as a love letter […]

FourFiveSeconds and now this. Rih, what did we do to deserve this? (Thank you!) At the iHeartRadio concert, Rihanna entered the stage via helicopter wearing what I can only describe as the sexiest leprechaun outfit I’ve ever seen. She then proceeded to tell the audience that that “B-tch” better have her money! The song […]

Thursday night, after enduring the terrible disappointment of not being able to see Incubus, I took a break and met with an old friend. We decided to hit dirty sixth, which is an area that frightens me. We ended up hearing some good music coming out of The Dizzy Rooster so we went in there […]

I was able to meet with punk band, GYMSHORTS, from Providence, Rhode Island in a quaint alley near Hotel Vegas in Austin before their set this past Wednesday. I was joined by the whole band which consists of lead vocalist Sarah, guitarist Devin, bassist Michael and drummer Chris. It was short, to the point, and […]

Fun Fun Fun Fest Day One What an energetic experience I got to be a part of today. By the time I showed up to pick up my tickets, the will call line contained hundreds of people, waiting to get in to the festival. The bright Austin sun heated up the pavement and sapped my strength […]

To say you haven’t heard anything like Only Beast is an understatement. Only Beast performed at Coog Radio’s 5th Birthday Bash. The best way to describe them: loud. “A Nerve”, the opening track from Only Beast’s debut album, introduces the listener to a raucous mix of hard rock n’ roll and contemplative post-rock blues. Notice Danielle […]

We got the chance to interview local blues artist Craig Kinsey after last week’s Birthday Bash. Check out what he had to say about his new album, why he decided to start touring and his upcoming plans for his website. How was it like working with Steve Christensen on your newest album?  Great. Steve Christensen was amazing. It’s […]

The Black Lips, a punk garage rock band formed in Georgia and going strong since 1999, will be performing in Austin Texas at FFFF.
