Spain: A musical exploration

Written by on August 5, 2012

The fall semester is fast approaching. Maybe at this point you’re regretting having wasted the summer on Netflix instead of traveling and going on adventures. No worries. Music is another great way of exploring the world. Of course some music – like those generic compilations sold at Starbucks – tend to have the opposite effect. And so we thought we’d recommend a few songs that acurately reflected the country they were from.

In this list, we highlight three artists from Spain. As Pitchfork’s Jenn Pelly recently pointed out, Spain not only hosts some of the world’s best music festivals, but is also home to a thriving independent music scene. The following picks are just a small glimpse of what’s happening in the country.

Side note: Cut Your Hair’s “Utah in Pictures” is easily one of the best music videos of the year.

Pegasvs – El Final De La Noche

Cut Your Hair – Utah in Pictures

Granit – Marea Viva
