School is officially out! And now its time to whip out that “summer-time-fine” bod, meet a beach hottie, and create an epic summer romance.  All jokes aside, we know the summer can leave you with “unlimited” time, and if you aren’t careful this can turn into the boredom monster (yikes).  So whether you have road trip plans with your homies, or plans of pizza and re-runs, here is the ultimate list for music fun in the sun.

Geo Digital x Silver Platter x New Kings Presents: Migos

Its the Migos! And they’d rather be rich than famous.  These “No Label” rappers have definitely made a name for themselves this year!  Last summer, the trio had everyone (including Drizzy Drake) chanting: Versace, Versace! VERSACE! VERSACE!  This summer, they will be here in H-Town!  Who knows?  These guys might drop another hot track for the summer.

Kid Ink – My Own Lane Tour

Kid Ink is new to the mainstream music scene, and he’s been dominating the charts with his hit single, “Show Me”.  Titled after the album, the My Own Lane Tour will grace twenty one cites, and Houston is one of them!  So go on.  Show Kid Ink some Texan love!

Free Press Summer Festival

 

What would a hot Houston summer be without FPSF? Its full of food, art, crazy tunes, and crazy people.  If you’re crazy and you know it, and if you’re a rock star and you know it, this is the music fest made for you!  Bun B, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Mike Jones (Who?), and Paul Wall will be there. The Ying Yang Twins will be there.  Childish Gambino will be there. Even Lauryn Hill knows she should be there! So you be there too.

Houston Public Media Silent Film Concerts

Everyone loves movies! But what about the music in the movie? If there wasn’t music in the film, I bet top dollar viewers would be throwing tomatoes at the screen. This summer, meet Graham Reynolds. The man behind the film music! He’ll play scores from all the movies he’s done (including the film Bernie!) and there’s even a free movie after the concert.  If for some reason you missed Bernie on the big screen, here is your chance.

Museum of Fine Arts Houston – Mixed Media

Is it possible to have a Project X experience in an art museum?  The Museum of Fine Arts says heck yes!  Named the “multi-sensory experience”, this event is packed with booze (21+), food, DJs, live performances, colored lights, and art exhibits. Not to mention an after party.  The event is designed by Ikea, and will even have a smilebooth available to capture all the moments you can’t fit into those flawless selfies.

Lady GaGa’s Art Rave – The ArtPop Ball

Last, and most certainly not least, it is the collaborations of all collaborations guys. The pep in our step. The gleam in every baby’s eyes; the capital “E” in epic; the hands down ultimate, most anticipated concert of the summer… THE ON THE RUN TOUR.  Everyone has heard a bizarre story or two (or thousands…) of crazed fans going to extreme lengths for Beyoncé tickets.
