Childish Gambino Drops a Cryptic Music Video for “Sober”

Written by on January 12, 2015

Donald Glover, otherwise famously known as Childish Gambino, has been praised over the Internet for his latest albums Because The Internet and STNMTN/Kauai. A couple of days ago at 3 AM Central Standard Time, Gambino released a music video for the song “Sober” which originates from his album STNMTN/Kauai.

Andddddd Jazz hands!

It was, to say the least, a pretty interesting video with some awesome dance moves from ‘Bino himself as he tries to capture the attention of a nearby stranger. The song at first seems to be very bubbly and positive but in reality Gambino is repeating over and over again how he cannot stand to be sober ever since him and his girl separated. In comparison, the video’s can only be taken as… puzzling.

It’s okay Donald, we still love you despite your weird magic egg tricks.

Many over the internet have hotly debated this video is linked to Donald’s persona as “the boy” which was featured in a script that went along with Because The Internet. Others have said that it is linked to his earlier music videos to “The Worst Guys” and “Telegraph Ave (“Oakland by Lloyd”). Whatever the meaning is, the video and the song are pretty freaking awesome.
