SXSW: Too $hort delivers at the Palm on 6th

Written by on March 24, 2015

The Palm on 6th st. was a full house and for good reason.  Not only was the headliner for the evening Too $hort, but names like King Chip, Freddie Gibbs, Slim Thug and Trae the Truth were on the bill as well.

The Saturday night evening was put on by Empire Distribution and they really knew how to throw an event.  They had powerful performances all night.  Things kicked off fairly early and included many new and upcoming artists, each with their own unique style.  The crowd kept growing and when King Chip hit the stage with his “Marty McFly” sneakers it erupted.

Earth Gang and Rayven Justice put on a brilliant performances and Freddie Gibbs gave the audience a reason to be out that evening.  He performed songs off his mixtape B.F.K. and sounded just as good live as on tape.  Slim Thug and Trae tha Truth put on for Houston and the evening was capped off by a stellar performance by Too $hort.  Along with himself, he brought out some of his new signees and gave everyone in attendance a finale to the incredible show that had just taken place.
