The Southern California rockers together PANGEA are scheduled to touchdown in Austin at Auditorium Shores, November 6-8. It is sure to be one huge, alcohol and hormone fueled mosh pit. Doesn’t that sound fun? It should! Here’s why. These SoCal garage punk rockers met at Cal Arts, and began playing shows on campus that consisted of songs that lead singer/guitarist William Keegan self produced in his bedroom. The band, originally named simply Pangea, was forced to change to it’s current name due to copyright issues. Under the former name, the band released their first two LPs, with their sophomore album landing on California DIY label Burger Records. Living Dummy reflected the bands propensity for headbanging, drinking to excess (one song being titled “Too Drunk to Come”), and also an affinity for old school rockabilly. The album was met with positive reviews, which led to them touring with contemporary acts such as Wavves, Ty Segall, and the Black Lips, culminating in a nationwide tour on the Burgerama Caravan of Stars along with fellow FFFFesters The Growlers. The album garnered international attention, landing them on the famed London based label Harvest Records. Their third full length release Badillac was a much anticipated one, and it did not disappoint. With Harvest giving the band full artistic range and financial backing, together PANGEA was able to produce their most refined sound yet.

I have had the privilege of seeing these guys live, and boy, are they a blast. I saw them at the aforementioned Burgerama Caravan of Stars, where they opened at Fitzgerald’s. With their uniquely garage punk and rockabilly fusion they were able to easily get the crowd going, even myself, who had not heard the band until I got to Fitz. With songs like “Badillac,” “Offer,” “No Feelin’,” and “Night of the Living Dummy,” I ensure to anyone that sees them that you will not regret this decision.

Below are some links to together PANGEA’s two latest releases (one under the name of Pangea), as well as a link to my favorite video of theirs, and a link to Fun Fun Fun Fest’s website, so we can get you some passes and on your way to moshing with hundreds of strangers!
