Artist Spotlight: Go Cozy

Written by on June 30, 2016

“Go outside….let the wind flow through your hair… sometimes everything is okay.”
Babe City Record’s founder, Jon Weiss, comforts listeners the day they dropped a new album by signed indie rock band, Go Cozy, on April 8th, 2016.

Based out of Silver Springs, Maryland, the dream pop quintet moved to Washington D.C. to record their first LP, Glaziao. The band began as an idea when Maryland natives, Homero Salazar and Maria Sage, started to discuss and experiment with music over long distance.

Alienated by the pressing matters of college life, they were able to find the inspiration for a “universal” and “intimate” sound once they were reunited. The sound is lush and dreamy, and covered with a blanket of spatial intelligence. The songs on the album are masterfully written for only being their first album. I can’t wait to see the direction this band’s songs will go toward. Check out their album, Glaziao, on Babe City Record’s Soundcloud below. Feel free to leave a comment below, and let us know some of your other favorite dream-pop bands. Cheers!
