Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor Way was recently unveiled to the public in Queens, NY.

The city renamed the intersection of Linden Blvd. and 192nd St. in Queens, NY after the late A Tribe Called Quest rapper. Fans, supporters, family members and several prominent figures in the hip-hop community were in attendance at the grand ceremony.

Attendees included A Tribe Called Quest co-members Q-Tip and Jarobi White, long-time friend and collaborator Busta Rhymes, and Hot 97 and ESPN radio personality Peter Rosenberg. Hundreds of excited fans crowded the corner, while wearing merchandise from the ATCQ pop-up shop held in New York last week.

Taylor, known as A Tribe Called Quest’s funny, high-pitched MC, died in March due to complications from diabetes.
