Freaky Deaky Artist Spotlight: Kaskade

Written by on October 15, 2018

Kaskade is an American DJ and producer, and was voted American’s Top DJ in 2011 and 2013. Originally from Chicago, he started out with a small turntable in his dorm room as a college student, then began playing local shows. He has built his career steadily since then, has a brilliant and large discography, has played at top festivals around the world, and has been credited (along with deadmau5) for bringing back House music in the early 2000’s. With this massive success and name to live up to today, Kaskade’s live sets are still amongst the best you’ll ever see. His sets are known for getting you in your “feels,” and of course you’ll leave covered in confetti.

Kaskade has also been releasing incredible remixes of other electronic artists we know and love as well. His most recent remix of Odesza’s “Falls” will give you a sense of the beautiful House-inspired energy Kaskade brings to his sets. Kaskade is also famous for his duality of “fire” and “ice” during his live sets – fire being intense, up-tempo build-ups, and ice being cool, melodic come-downs. This combination makes his set a whirlwind of different tempos, sounds, and energies, as he takes you on the musical journey of a lifetime. Being one of the most popular, successful, and award-winning DJs, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to see this world-renowned artist perform. Luckily, he’s coming here to Houston this fall, performing at Freaky Deaky Festival. Alongside other headliners like Porter Robinson and Excision, you won’t want to miss this spooky Halloween festival, as ravers across Texas gather to experience the magic of music.
