Sofi Tukker is Bringing an Electric Dance Party to Houston

Written by on October 10, 2019

Sofi Tukker is a dynamic electronic duo based out of New York, and you may have heard one of their award-winning hits like “Best Friend” and “Drinkee.” Inspired and influenced by Brazilian music and poetry, Sofi Tukker has several songs in Portuguese and their music combines house music with a unique Latin-flair. With captivating vocals, jungle-pop style, and cross-genre blends, Sofi Tukker has received significant recognition for their music. From a Grammy nomination for their song “Best Friend” to performing at renowned festivals like Coachella, Sofi Tukker has been a rising star in music in the past few years.

Their latest EP, Dancing on the People, is an energetic and fun follow up to their iconic album Treehouse last year. With hits like “Purple Hat” and “Swing,” you can’t help but want to dance when you listen to their music. The duo has discussed their excitement to take this new music on tour with a growing fan base at every show they play. Calling it “a mission to kill shame one loose dance party at a time,” they embrace authenticity and self-love. If that wasn’t great enough – Sofi Tukker teamed with the plus1 initiative, which donates a dollar from every ticket sold to a charity effort.

You won’t want to miss the chance to see Sofi Tukker as they stop in Houston at White Oak Music Hall for their RIP Shame Tour on Thursday, October 17. With openers Haiku Hands, an Australian electro-rave-pop trio with infectious rhythm, you’ll surely feel like dancing shamelessly.  Click here to buy tickets and don’t forget to follow Sofi Tukker on Twitter and Instagram for music and tour updates!
