Float Fest 2022 – Texas Sunshine on the Guadalupe River

Written by on June 8, 2022

Once again, the Guadalupe River will echo with live music in the Texas hill country. Here in Texas, one of our favorite activities is cooling off in the crystal-clear natural waters and letting the sun beam off our skin. Float Fest blends those euphoric experiences with live music and sets up stages on the banks of the river underneath the oak trees, allowing attendees to get the best of their midsummer days and evenings.

Float Fest is located in Gonzalez, Central Texas where the green grounds have been longing for crowded feet to return with dancing and singing. This summer, on July 23 & 24 in the birthplace of Texas Independence, music and freedom will ring in the ears of all who journey to enjoy this feeling.

Despite taking a three-year break, the festival returns to fulfill your musical cravings with major upgrades to make up for the long wait. The new location is a ranch three times the size of the previous venue, allowing for a longer float downstream and more space to camp and dream. Of course, the classic attributes of multiple bars, native food vendors, art installations, and carnival attractions will return and become integrated with Texas traditions and local endeavors.

Containing debatably the greatest Float Fest lineup to date, they will be hosting iconic headliners Vampire Weekend, DeadMau5, Marshmello, and Cage the Elephant producing a perfect variety of tunes for the diverse Texas natives.

So “Come a Little Closer” and Camp or take a shuttle, pack a swimsuit, blow up your tubes, and get ready for “Trouble” because Cage the elephant hasn’t been in this state since before the pandemic.

If those names aren’t enough, the lineup continuously contains nonstop attractions. Following up with artists that feel like moonlight such as Lord Huron, highlight the hometown band who met at the University of Texas in Austin like Nane, and touch your soul like KAYTRANADA. The renowned Tove Lo and Hippie Sabotage will join the mix and transcend the crowd with psychedelic references and mesmerizing lyrics. Pop artists like CHVRCHES and Quinn XCII will bring smooth melodies blended with powerful beats to the presence of the Guadalupe River. Unique artists on their rise to fame such as 100 gecs and two feet will provide flare and intensive beats to the stages under the trees. Additionally, the excitement will rise in the Texas countryside with Chance the Rapper’s seeping lyricism and Pusha T showcasing masterful rhythm debuting his new album It’s Almost Dry. Including many more…

A diverse lineup indeed where anyone can find their niche and explore different musical regions. An ideal day spent splashing in the river and ending in front of a stage listening to beautiful live music will definitely be worth it. This festival is a must attend and will not only have sunshine filled with serotonin but will contrast with a refreshing dip in the river moment. See you in the fields of Texas bliss, bring your friends, and buy a ticket to prepare for a fun-filled weekend to remember.
