Recap: Swedish House Mafia

“Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Axwell, this is Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello. And Houston, we do not have a problem, because we are the Swedish House Mafia.”

At those last three words, the Toyota Center erupted in cheers as the legendary EDM trio launched into “Greyhound.” With the now-iconic halo hanging above the stage, SHM pulled out all the stops for their largest tour to date.

After a 5 year hiatus, a return in 2018, and a tour in 2019, Swedish House Mafia finally made it down to Houston for this year’s Paradise Again World Tour. Playing to an admittedly not-too-packed house, the trio put on a great show spanning nearly two hours, with all of the lights, pyrotechnics, and sounds that make an EDM show truly spectacular.

Playing songs including “One (Your Name),” “Sacrifice” and “Moth to a Flame,” (the latter two being collaborations with The Weeknd), SHM turned the arena show into more of a rave, with music that could be heard from the streets outside the venue.

The trio closed out the show with arguably their biggest hit – “Don’t You Worry Child,” that had the whole crowd singing along. For Houston EDM fans, it was definitely a show to remember.
