Music Video: The Manichean’s “Lovers”

Houston’s The Manichean have always made it a point to bring theater into their work. Whether through their prosaic lyrics, their use of musique concrete elements (i.e using a typewriter as an instrument), or even choice of venue, The Manichean’s music serves not as pop songs but a soundtrack to real human drama, which they do beautifully with the video for “Leopards” off of their new album Lovers (looks so good, it may as well have been shot by Emily Kai Brock and Evan Prosofvsky).
