The House of Blues remained true to its name by bringing the hard-edged blues styling of George Thorogood and the Destroyers to town.

Although I was surrounded by people who could have been my parents, I did not feel out of place. Thorogood’s energy and enthusiasm for the music brought us all together.

Thorogood put on one hell of a show.

He played with all of the energy of a twenty-year-old hopped up on energy drinks and a good night’s sleep.

It’s refreshing to see a man who influenced so many blues musicians still playing. He is happy and funny and he knows how to connect to the crowd.

I thought about all of the times I’ve played Thorogood’s music when I’m shooting pool or throwing darts. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a night of drinks and maybe a fight, but at the House of Blues it was just a good time.
