Written by Sunita Dharani on June 18, 2014
As we all know by now, Drake had Houston on fire this past weekend as he kicked off the inaugural Houston Appreciation Weekend. If you decided to stay home away from the chaos, we will fill you in on what you missed out.
Thursday was the kick off of H.A.W. and it started Drake Night at the Astros game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Drake went out there and met with some Astros players as well as the Urban Youth Academy. While showing off his own custom Astros jersey, he took pictures and answered questions with the Urban Youth Academy as well as the press that was there, before the game. During pregame activities, Drake came out to explain his love for Houston and accepting ” Drake Day” which is on June 10th.
Check out what he had to say about Houston:
On Saturday, Drake, Kevin Hart, Terrence J and Will Packer hosted the movie premiere of “Think Like A Man Too” at AMC Studio 30. Fans were lined up as early as 8 AM, hoping for a chance to see the stars. Other fans waited outside the theater surrounding the red carpet as all the celebrities walked down and took selfies and signed autographs. After a few interviews, Will Packer, Kevin Hart, Terrence J and Drake introduced the movie and cracked jokes.
Catch Terrence J, Drake and Kevin Hart walking to their seats to watch the movie with the crowd:
On Sunday, Drake wrapped up H.A.W. with a celebrity charity basketball game featuring Kirko Bangz, Dez Bryant, Dorrough, Mike Jones, and more. Drake sat courtside with James Harden as they watched their friends and colleagues play ball to raise funds for charity.
If you missed out this year, don’t worry! Drake plans to hold Houston Appreciation Weekend every year!
