The Weeknd Featured on Fifty Shades of Grey Soundtrack

Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, was recently spotted in music headlines for being featured in the upcoming Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack. The R&B world thought this was simply a rumor until pictures of the artist and the soundtrack’s producer surfaced on Twitter and other social media sites. Six days ago, a 30-second snippet of the track titled “Earned It” was leaked onto the interwebs for his fans to get a little tease from. At around 10pm Monday night, the full track was officially released. The release of this song could not have come at a better time for Abel, as he just celebrated the 3-year anniversary of his mixtape, Echoes of Silence, and received the honorary Allan Slaight Award at Canada’s Walk of Fame gala over the past weekend. The Canadian artist uses his classic slow jam pace, while also maintaining his usual sexual lyricism throughout the steamy track, as he shows off his distinct and smooth vocals while singing to his secret and almost forbidden lover. 50 Shades of Grey is set to be released nationwide on Valentine’s Day next year.
