Concert Review: Rhye at Warehouse Live
Written by Junior Fernandez on July 25, 2016
Rhye, Milosh and Robin Hannibal’s very sensual R&B project, performed for the first time at Houston’s Warehouse Live last Thursday – three years after their first album debut, Woman.
Each of Woman’s 10 songs is a deeply intimate set of arrangements accompanied by the androgynous sound of Milosh’s countertenor. At times his voice was so high and the arrangements were so subtle that Milosh had to urge the audience to be silent so that they could hear it all. The duo even waited an hour for an artist at a neighboring stage (Warehouse Live also has two spaces; each might hold a separate show/event at the same time) to stop playing so nothing would distract from their sound (Which was a bit annoying but also worth it).
Overall, a great show at a great venue.
