“Clay Melton Band” Melts Faces, One Stage At a Time
Written by Coog Radio on August 3, 2016
Fueled by heavy rhythms, electrifying guitar riffs, and melodic pop structure, CoogRadio.com, presents the guitar-driven rock n’ roll outfit from Houston, Clay Melton Band.
Being named “One of the Top 10 Guitarists in Texas” at age fifteen, Clay Melton is an evocative guitarist and songwriter backed by a stellar live band. Each performance given is explosive and passionate, all while keeping a steady driving groove. Drummer Zach Grindle and Bassist Raymon Minton help to create the sound that is the Clay Melton Band.
One of the attributes of their live sound is their ability to “get lost in a moment and completely surrender themselves to every note and nuance.” For Clay, Zach, and Raymon, playing live for a crowd truly had them hooked from the get go. They believe that the “adrenaline rush” and “synergy” that can happen on stage between them and the audience makes it all worth the while.
Clay Melton Band debuts their new original “Timing’s Everything” live in Austin, TX @ Empire Control & Garage, June 13th, 2016.
Earlier this year, the band released their self-titled EP, promoting their single “Home” on radio stations nationwide. The band is also preparing to record their first full-length album in November and is set to be released by Spring 2017.“When I was 11, I heard Jimi Hendrix’s version of “All Along the Watchtower”…The guitar solo was unlike anything I had ever heard and just knew that I wanted to be able to create sounds like that; to be able to innovate musically.”- Clay
Owing his everlasting inspiration to his father, the man who bought him his first guitar, Clay Melton is also hugely influenced by artists like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, John Mayer and BB King. One of the most notable things, however, is how personable the man behind the music is. It is with no doubt that his humble intentions and grit of musicianship will continue to serve him well in his career as a recording artist. I truly believe it is his integrity and honest heart that makes his music so genuine. I strongly suggest all listeners to check out Clay Melton Band, and if you haven’t yet, see them perform LIVE, this Friday, August 5th at Satellite Bar. You can listen to the band’s first EP on Soundcloud and ITunes, right now by clicking HERE. For more info, LIKE their page on Facebook for updates or check out their website at www.claymeltonband.com
