Being on top of the charts for weeks now, Lizzo gave us everything we wanted and more with her much-anticipated set on Sunday night. With a girl power-filled lineup on Sunday, Lizzo really deserved to finish out the festival at one of the main stages. Her crowd was packed at the Miller Lite stage, even being considered a safety hazard by some.
With her “thick girl dancers” and lots of twerking, Lizzo’s set was definitely the most fun set of the day, and everyone was dancing and singing along with her. Shouting out her Houston roots, Lizzo commented on her crowd size and impressive ‘homecoming’ to Texas, which has gotten lots of buzz already. It’s incredible how big and diverse Lizzo’s fanbase has become in such a short period of time. I think her ability to expand her message of self-acceptance and relate to everyone with it plays a huge role in this.
Putting on an incredible show with all our favorite bops from her album Cuz I Love You, Lizzo gave us all of the motivation and healing energy we needed to love ourselves! She has created such an important space right now to have conversations about body image and self-love, but she does so in such a fun way by just being herself. Not afraid to speak up, be bold, and talk about tough issues, Lizzo is bringing a fresh perspective that resonates with many people
Reminding us to love ourselves unapologetically, Lizzo’s music is uplifting and can’t help but make you feel better even on bad days.
Don’t miss your chance to see Lizzo perform again at weekend 2 of Austin City Limits – get your tickets while they last!
