Dead Poet Society to Perform at House of Blues

Written by on September 20, 2022

Fans of rock-and-roll rejoice. Dead Poet Society will continue their tour into Texas for two days only, beginning in Dallas and ending in Houston, before heading back onto the road to Florida.

Founded in 2013, the band members met while attending the Berklee College of Music and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Currently, it consists of four members: lead-singer and guitarist Jack Underkolfer, backup vocalist and guitarist Jack Collins, bass player Dylan Brenner and drummer Will Goodroad.

The band, who primarily dabble in southern and alternative rock, released their first EP, Weapons the same year the group formed. You can listen to their entire debut EP on Youtube for free.

Thus far, Dead Poet Society has released over twenty-six singles and two albums, with their latest one, -!-on March 12th, 2021. The band’s music has also appeared in over fourteen tv series and commercials, including hit show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians“.

According to Spotify, their most-listened-to song is “.intoodeep.”, with over nine million listeners, followed swiftly by “American Blood” at six million. The former is highly regarded and beloved because of its upbeat tempo paired with engaging lyrics that manages to radiate both lightness and gravity simultaneously.

This fan-favorite band’s unique charm is imminent in their songs, with how they can draw you in with really soft ballads and then have you jamming along to fast-paced, more traditionally recognized rock. Though they may not have as many released singles and albums as other long-term artists, this allows their music to be all the more intriguing and well-thought-out.

All of which is apparent in their hit single “.CoDA.“, which features riveting acoustics and sultry, sharp words to accompany. It all feels very personal, like you are a part of the story of the individuals who are so wrong for each other, yet compelled to attract one another like magnets. Other songs like “.intoodeep.” follow a similar pattern, in that it incorporates aspects of one of Underkolfer’s relationships that leaves you hanging on to every syllable.

Moreover, the band also has experience performing both nationally and internationally.

In their early years, they were the opening act for performers across countries such as America and Mexico. One of their earliest live performances took place in 2017 in Mexico City, Mexico, and followed with frequent touring with Andrés in 2018 and 2019.

From September 2021 to October 2021, they toured with Badflower and Teenage Wrist in the United States and according to Udiscovermusic, it was announced that they’ll embark on a Winter UK & Europe tour with Badflower from November 27, 2022 through December 19, 2022.

Meanwhile, fans await Dead Poet Society’s only two concerts in Texas, which are both being held at the House of Blues. First stop takes place in Dallas, TX on September 24th, at 7:00 pm in the Cambridge Room, and the next in Houston, TX on September 25th at 7:00 pm. For more information on the events and where to buy tickets, check out the band’s official website, or visit the House of Blues website to learn more about the venue.
