Pusha T: It’s Almost Dry Tour Show Recap
Written by Leydi Gonzalez on October 17, 2022
After dropping his last album DAYTONA in 2018, Pusha T released his awaited album It’s Almost Dry in April 2022. The album was executively produced by Ye and Pharrell Williams, and has star-studded features like JAY-Z, Lil Uzi Vert, and Kid Cudi. Virginia’s own Pusha T put on an amazing show at Houston’s House of Blues filled with a loyal fan base who rapped along word for word.
The show opened up with Maryland raised artist, IDK. He came out promptly at 8PM and performed songs from his 2021 album USEE4YOURSELF and his newest project Simple., which was fully produced by KAYTRANADA. While on stage he was super interactive with the crowd, talking to them, singing happy birthday to a fan, and volume control games. His duality to rap his ass off but also sing his heart out was amazing to see live. As a surprise gift to crowd, he brought out Houston native Maxo Kream to perform ‘’FETTI’’, which of course turned the crowd up. Overall, he was a great artist to help warm up the crowd for the star of the night, Pusha T.
“I’m the best rapper and trust me I know who’s alive” says Pusha T as he takes in the roaring Houston crowd. The graphics that opened up his set said “PUSHA T; IT’S ALMOST DRY; RAP ALBUM OF THE YEAR,” and to many in that crowd it was true. He started the night with ‘’Let The Smokers Shine The Coupes’’ and ‘’ Just So You Remember’’ while the crowd was following him word for word. His iconic joker smile and laugh was on display when performing braggadocious.
Throughout the night you could see the crowd fully enjoying themselves by not being on their phones for a lot of his set, but instead just vibing along with other fans and living in the moment. His shiny chain was twinkling as he moved across the stage to interact and make sure that his Houston crowd was rockin’ with him. He closed off the show with hits like ‘’Runaway’’ and ‘’Scrape It Off’’ and then saluted Houston a good night. Pusha T and IDK are finishing off their second leg of the It’s Almost Dry Tour, so catch them if you can!
