Baby Rose & Q: Through the Soul Tour Review

Soul music is more alive than ever with Baby Rose and Q showing out on their Through the Soul tour.
Washington D.C native Baby Rose and Florida native Q came together to celebrate their new projects by hitting the road across the states. Baby Rose released her second album, Through and Thorugh, in April with features like Smino and Georgia Anne Muldrow. One week later Q dropped his album, Soul, PRESENT, with the only feature being Baby Rose herself.
The night began with rising RnB artist Mamii. Even though it was her first time in Houston the crowd showed her a lot of love. She was a one-person band as she had her laptop onstage to DJ herself. She played a couple of songs like “Creepiin” and “Fuck You Up”. As her set was ending she picked up her guitar and played an acoustic rendition of her feature “NONCHALANT” from WS Boogie’s album. Mamii is an artist to check out if you are an RnB fan!
For this stop, Baby Rose was on stage first. She came out in a black sheer dress with ruffles that added movement to her performance. The alto singer stepped on stage with her silver thigh-high boots and showed off her one-of-a-kind voice. Baby Rose’s tone of voice was breathtaking while performing songs like “Stop The Bleeding”, “I Won’t Tell”, and a crowd favorite “Power”. Throughout her set, she delivered grand vocals, stories on songs, and positive energy.
Next, Q came on stage to close off this soulful night. The Florida artist had an all-black attire with a beanie and sunglasses. For his stage setup, he had these funky keys with a beat pad and a microphone. As well as a second microphone that was wireless so he could pick it up and move around when he wanted to. Q’s set was a focused lot on production. His musical skills and dances were something that had your head bopping throughout the night. His live vocals did not fall short though with songs like “UNDERSTAND”, “STEREO DRIVER”, and his hit “Take Me Where Your Heart Is”.
