50 Cent: The Final Lap Tour Review

Written by on August 31, 2023

After 20 years of the classic album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ 50 Cent has hit the road with Jeremih and Busta Rhymes for the Final Lap Tour

The Final Lap Tour brought fans of all ages to Houston Toyota Center for a night full of throwbacks and hits.

To get the night started, Chicago’s own Jeremih hit the stage. The R&B artist had a plane-themed stage with dancers dressed as flight attendants. He performed songs like “Oui”, “Planez”, and “Impatient”. He had a good stage presence and did a great job entertaining the crowd as they were settling into their seats.

Next on stage is another New York legend Busta Rhymes. Known for his over-the-top performances, he did not disappoint. As the stage opened up his long-time performance partner Spliff Star walked out first. As the smoke cleared you could see Busta Rhymes sitting on a throne-like chair. They both hit the center of the stage and “Ante Up”  began his set. Busta Rhymes ran through classics like “Look at Me Now”, “Scenario”, and “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See”. Busta Rhymes was full of life and energy throughout his performance. Seeing him live is something a hip-hop head needs to experience.

To close out the night, the man who was shot 9 times and survived, 50 Cent was here. In an all-black outfit, cap, and big glistening chains, 50 Cent came out of a glass box with blue thunder lighting screens. As this tour is honoring the album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, he performed album cuts like “What up Gangsta”, “If I Can’t”,  and “P.I.M.P”. He would change into different outfits to match the changing stage to keep the night as visually appealing.

50 Cent closed off the night with hits like “In Da Club”, and “Many Men”, and brought back Jeremih to perform “Down on Me”. 50 Cent brought out the New York attitude out of everybody as they danced, head-bopped, and rapped along enjoying the night. 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, and Jeremih are continuing their tour across the states, catch them if you can!
