Philadelphia’s own Lil Uzi Vert came to Houston for the Pink Tape Tour with a DJ set from DJ P FOR REAL.
Uzi broke into the scene back in 2016 and has been developing his sound ever since. Known for his quirky personality and catchy tunes Uzi is an artist who constantly goes outside the box.
The chilly night in Houston brought fans of all ages to the 713 Music Hall with mainly black, white, and pink-colored outfits. The venue was packed from all angles ready for a night of raging and moshing. To warm up the crowd DJ P FOR REAL set off the night with moshing bangers. The lights dimmed for his set, and the people roared with electric energy. He played songs like “FEIN” by Travis Scott, “POWER” by Kanye West, and ended his time with “Look At Me!” by XXXTENTACION. He played a great set for the night.
Next on the 713 Music Hall stage was the rockstar of the night Lil Uzi Vert. The stage set was Tokyo-inspired with neon lights and two prop buildings that he was able to jump to and from. Uzi opened the night with songs from his newest album Pink Tape like “Suicide Doors”, “NFL”, and “x2”.
“Even though we are in the Pink Tape Tour I have different eras” – Lil Uzi Vert
Uzi then proceeded to play songs from some of their biggest albums Luv is Rage 2, The Perfect LUV Tape, and Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World. The crowd erupted with energy when the classics were played. Tracks like “Money Longer”, “Do What I Want”, and “The Way Life Goes” had Houston moshing and I saw crutches in the air in the middle of the pit.
Uzi’s online personality which we all know and love was present throughout the night. “I have something to tell y’all… I love y’all” he said giggling, “Do y’all not love me back?”. Uzi continued his show by running through his major hits like “Sanguine Paradise”, “wokeuplikethis*”, and “Shoota”.
Lil Uzi Vert put on an amazing show full of rockstar energy and raging fans. He closed the global hits “XO TOUR LIF3” and “Just Wanna Rock” while saying goodbye to the Houston crowd. Lil Uzi Vert is finishing off his Pink Tape Tour across the states so catch them if you can!
