Chase Atlantic & 24kGoldn Perform at Bayou Music Center

I arrived at Bayou Music Center excited to cover the show. I had heard of Chase Atlantic before, but made sure to revisit some of their greatest hits before the show such as: “Into It,” “Friends” and “Swim.” As I was listening to their music I really couldn’t help but get pumped for being able to see the show so close up. As I waited for the opening act, 24kGoldn, I realized that I had come to the show two hours before the opener was supposed to start. While the standing around was unpleasant I was able to help another photographer in need of an SD card and was able to network, which made the early arrival and wait all worth it.
When 24kGoldn came on stage the crowd was ecstatic, and the room had begun to fill up. He opened the concert with his song “VALENTINO” and played other songs from his Growing Pains. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance and will definitely be buying tickets the next time he comes to town.
While I had heard of Chase Atlantic before I didn’t really consider myself a fan until after I saw their performance. They displayed the level of energy on stage that I typically have seen from rock and metal bands, and I loved the combination of alt-pop sound and high-energy performance. Their setlist included: “DIE FOR ME,” “Slow Down,” “Consume,” “RICOCHET,” ”The Walls,” “WHAT YOU CALL THAT,” “OHMAMI,” “FAVELA,” “HEAVEN AND BACK,” “DEMON TIME,” “NIGHT CALLS,” “Into It,” “OKAY,” “BEAUTY IN DEATH,” “YOU TOO,” “I DON’T LIKE DARKNESS,” “MESS ME UP,” ”Church” and “Swim”. Of this massive setlist my favorite three were: “SWIM,” “RICOCHET” and “DIE FOR ME.” During the show the band celebrated one of their friend’s birthday, had the crowd sing with them, and brought out a birthday cake to celebrate his birthday!
This was an amazing show, and I can’t wait to see these artists again. I am also excited to see where 24kGoldn’s career will go and how his sound will grow as he makes his way in the music industry.
