Local Natives: Time Will Wait For No One But I’ll Wait For You Tour
Written by Jacobson Ewell on November 7, 2024
I arrived at White Oak Music Hall an hour before the opener to get a feel for where I would be taking photos, excited for both the Local Natives’ and the Krooked Kings’ performance as I have been a fan of both bands since transferring to the University of Houston last year. I had planned to see the Krooked Kings last time they were in town, but was unable to make it which is why I was extremely excited to attend the show. The concert was held in the downstairs venue at White Oak Music Hall which is a large open room on the first floor with a balcony on the second floor that gives an awesome view of the stage.
The Krooked Kings were amazing in concert they played some of their best songs like “Bird Scooter“, “Suburbia“, and “Coming of Age“. Hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, this amped indie band gets you in the party mood. The Krooked Kings are an extraordinary experience in concert and I can’t wait to see them the next time they come to Houston.
After the Krooked Kings performance I wasn’t sure how much better the night could get, but the Local Natives completely shattered my expectations and brought their best to the stage that night. While I have heard every song they have available for streaming online, nothing could have prepared me for the intensity the band members brought to a live performance. They played some of my favorites like “Past Lives“, “Coins“, and “April“. Even after leaving the photo pit I could still feel the energy that the band was giving from the audience. It was an immaculate show and I will be looking forward to the next time the Local Natives come to town. This was an unforgettable show and I am forever be grateful for getting the opportunity to cover these amazing artists that are responsible for my entry and exploration into the indie genre of music. After the concert was over I wanted to hear more of their music so I went home to listen to their entire discographies.
