Inhaler brings a taste of Ireland to Houston on St. Patrick’s Day

Written by on April 1, 2025

Inhaler fans were in for a massive treat this St. Patrick’s Day. The boys returned to Houston for the second time, playing a show at the House of Blues this time. Fans lined up early and were decked out in green, wearing hats and necklaces all to go with the St. Patrick’s theme. The openers were San Diego band Benches. They have been opening for Inhaler for quite some time now, so fans were singing along to all their songs. They were the perfect openers to get the energy pumping for the night ahead.

As the boys took the stage, they opened with their title track, “Open Wide.” Fans were immediately screaming and jumping. A blue curtain with a flower on it could be seen hanging in the back, a nod to the floral artwork on their album cover. They wasted no time diving into their most upbeat rockin’ songs like “When it Breaks.” The setlist was a perfect mix of all three of their albums, while still highlighting songs from their newest album Open Wide that released this past February.

Stand-out songs included “A Question Of You,” Eddie in the Darkness,” and “X-Ray,” with a guitar jam session between lead Eli and guitarist Josh right before. During “Dublin in Ecstasy,” Eli came down into the crowd to sing the bridge with one lucky fan. They even performed “In My Sleep” from their debut album, a special treat for fans since this is a song they rarely perform now.

The crowd, of course, did not disappoint. Inhaler fans are some of the most passionate fans around. During “Who’s Your Money On?” fans threw bills with Inhaler’s faces on them. Other fans could be seen waving Irish flags; the energy could be felt throughout the entire venue. This show was one of the last stops of the North American leg of the Open Wide World Tour, but Inhaler will be back in the US playing a few festivals this fall, so be sure to catch them there if you haven’t seen them yet! I also recommend checking out their newest album, Open Wide.
