BUKU Artist Spotlight: Ambré

Written by on March 2, 2017

New Orleans native, Ambré Perkins is performing at BUKU this year and it’s not something you’ll want to miss. With inspirations like Michael Jackson, Brandy, and Frank Ocean, Ambré’s music sounds like good old fashioned R&B while still putting in her own personal touch.

Ambré released her first full length mixtape Wanderlust back in 2015, her unique take on R&B and feminine touch is catching people’s attention as well as media stations such as Revolt TV and other ‘up and coming’ artists like Kehlani. The R&B princess was so impressed with Ambré’s sound, she invited her to join her ‘Tsunami Gang’, collaborating on an alternative version of Drake and PartyNextDoor’s “Preach”. The song instantly became a hit and earned Ambré a spot on Kehlani’s YSBH tour.

Ambré is now ready to take the industry on her own with the release of her latest project 2090’s, a collection of smooth and authentic music that shows her maturity at such a young age. The young singer speaks about real life situations, cultivating childhood hardships into something beautiful. Listen to “Nintendo Shawty” and “Goody Goody” on 2090’s and don’t miss out on a chance to see her this March in New Orleans for BUKU so make sure to buy tickets here.

Follow Ambré on TwitterInstagramFacebook and listen to her music on Soundcloud.
