Written by Rianne Akindele on September 24, 2019
Victor Internet, an 18 year-old Chicago based artist, has gone from making music in his church band to his track “Tinder Song” having over 8 million streams on Spotify. A true artist under the bedroom pop genre, Victor Cervantes began posting his creations on Soundcloud back in 2017. Now, in 2019, he has spent a good majority of his time touring with Cuco and working on his debut album project. Following his Soundcloud releases, was the 2018 Some Songs EP filled with lyrics resembling poetic stanzas on the topic of a shy and possibly forbidden love with mellow instrumentals to compliment.
Victor has continued to put out a steady stream of singles leading up to the September 20th release of his debut album self-written, produced, arranged, and designed by titled Victor’s Debut. Upon a first listen, this album’s premiere half is filled with sounds of melancholic love letters never sent. Cervantes will have you in your room watching the ceiling fans blades turn by. The “2017” track brings this self-reflective and floating like feeling to an end as the album then transitions into his latest single “Veins” bringing in the idea of taking what life throws at you and using it to live the life you always wanted.
