New Album: “Advaitic Songs”

Written by on July 24, 2012

San Francisco area metal duo Om is set to release their newest album, “Advaitic Songs,” blasting the band’s unique brand of ethereal drone metal to a hypnotic zenith.  Following the break up of doom metal titans Sleep, bassist Al Cisneros went on to form Om, choosing to focus on a softer more reflective approach drawing heavily on traditional Eastern elements as well as on contemporary metal styles.  “Advaitic Songs” confirms the symbiotic relationship between Cisneros’ controlled, monumental bass tone and the lush percussion offerings of Emil Amos (Grails, Holy Sons), in what could be Om’s most realized effort to date.

Available July 24 via Drag City.
